Had an absolutely splendid trip to Midway June 9 -16. Best vacation of my life hands down. No one without a smile. Excellent fly fishing (landed an 80# GT at Kure on a 12-weight, a 30# amberjack from the beach at Rusty Bucket on a 10-weight), great goonie, fairy tern, and monk seal watching, beautiful water and beach, astoundingly good food in the cafeteria. Aloha Airlines service fabulous. One of the very best, if not the best, vacation value in the world for those with an interest in geology, hydrology, biology, history, fishing, snorkeling. Can't wait to return next year if the value retained. I am writing a set of poems (about twenty, to go with pictures taken) about the experience and will be happy to share them with you if you are interested.

The air through which
brave pilots flew

bears facile glides midst gentle hue
above atoll where goonies woo
