The following prices are reflective
of prevailing boats along the East Cape region. Specific
prices for boats running from each hotel are within a few dollars of each other, and
should not be a factor in deciding which hotel to stay at.
There are many boats run by each hotel, and a specific boat or crew for a
specific day is often difficult or impossible to book because of seasons, maintenance
schedules, crew schedules, and other factors. Boats
operated by the Hotel Buena Vista and Palmas De Cortez are in good condition and operated
by professional and courteous crews. Destination:Pacific
can book the entire package for you including your boats and lodging arrangements.
Rates are based on the entire boat
chartered to your party. These are not
per person rates. Rates do not
include 10% tax, tackle, bait, fishing license or gratuity.
Full day is eight hours, half day is four hours. For descriptions of boat

Tackle is available for rental at
Buena Vista and Palmas De Cortez, or you are welcome to bring your own. The average price
is $10.00
per person.
Bait is available from a bait
fisherman on the water. After boarding your
charter boat and storing your gear, you will be approached by a small panga and offered to
buy bait, which your captain and crew will recommend you purchase. Prices vary greatly depending on availability, but
$50.00 should cover any bait cost for a full day of fishing. Average cost for bait usually runs around $20-30,
and the bait boats will accept US currency.
Gratuities are also not included in
the charter rate, and are entirely optional. Destination:PACIFIC
recommends a 15-20% gratuity be considered for the captain and crew, and should be based
on effort and service rather than production of fish.
