East Cape Activities
| The community that supports the
roughly 350 rooms that are spread through the eight East Cape resorts is compact and
simple, yet complete. Supermarkets, department store, bars, restaurants, tackle
shop, all the essentials are all present in the East Cape. Off road vehicles are
appropriate transport for the beach and dirt roads, and they often vie for space on the
sandy two lane streets with everything from vintage Detroit steel, held together with
bailing wire and bubble gum, to modern camper-bearing SUV's. |

Windsurfers' Camp
|
Although fishing is the main
attraction at the East Cape during the season, there are other enjoyable vacation
activities non-fishermen and resting fishermen can enjoy. Beach sightseeing can be
done by simply walking the beach, or for the more adventurous, renting an ATV to cruise
the beaches in style. Other beach activities include beach volleyball, swimming,
snorkeling, and simply relaxing in the sun and sand. In the off-season, windsurfing
is very popular, and thousands of windsurfers decend on the East Cape area windsurfer
camps to enjoy the great windsurfing conditions. |
| Other activities include shopping
for local crafts and souveniers, visiting one of the spas to enjoy a massage, sipping a
margarita at one of the fine scenic bars along the beach and of course just plain relaxing
in a hammock! If you're looking for exciting nightlife, East Cape is not the
place for you, but if you want a relaxing getaway, you're definately in the right place. |
