| Planning a trip to a remote tropical island
is not something most people do very often, so we've compiled a list of items you may want
to bring with you to make your trip comfortable and enjoyable. We have also specified the
types of travel documents you will need in order to travel to Christmas Island. Required Travel Documents
Passport
A valid passport is required for all visitors to Christmas Island. You must present
your passport upon check-in at the Honolulu airport and prior to departure for Kiribati.
VISA
A VISA is required from citizens of most countries. VISA applications can be
completed at the airport prior to departure from Honolulu. A $25 fee (cash or check)
along with a copy of your passport photo is required to process the VISA, and a
representative from the Republic of Kiribati VISA office will be at the airport to assist
and answer any questions.
