Marabell
| The Marabell, a 136-foot vintage restored work
ship with all the bells and whistles, splits duty between Langara Island at the Queen
Charlottes and famous Hakai Pass to the South, just above Rivers Inlet.
Sporting all the comforts of home, the Marabell was one of the first floating hotels to
serve Northern British Columbias famed sportfishery, and she steadfastly continues
her tradition today. In fact, many anglers from this 26-passenger hotel return to her year
after year simply because the Marabell is like no other. Moored at Langara Island from the end of May through the end of July, the
Marabell is becoming the preferred resort for more and more fly-fishers. Value pricing and
the use of stable 17 foot Boston Whalers have made the Marabell a logical choice for this
type of angler, and the abundance of fish, many of which can be sight-casted, has made
Langara a favorite for fly-fishing when conditions are right.
Moving down to Hakai Pass to take advantage of the late
summer trophy Chinook run, the Marabell moves into her comfortable "garage" for
August and September, and offers the same great food, service and accommodations as she
does at Langara. Plus, anglers are treated to abundant numbers of large Chinook (King) and
Coho (Silver) Salmon, Halibut, and several snapper and cod species. |
 |
| Fishing from the Marabell is unguided, though
fishmasters and deckhands will give seminars upon arrival and at any time through the
course of your trip. Your day is spent on an open 17 foot Whaler equipped with a 35 HP
outboard and VHF radio with depth sounder, along with a chart telling you where the
"hot spots" should be. Views of the pass, the open sea, and the breathtaking
British Columbia wilderness are all taken in on these trips, sometimes to the extent that
people forget to pay attention to the bend in their rods! |

|
Everything is included in a trip on the
Marabell. Guests can literally arrive with just the shirt on their back and enjoy a
fabulous trip, complete with all transportation from Vancouver, meals, wine with dinner,
unlimited use of the boats, all tackle, equipment and bait, rain gear, cruiser suits, and
professional catch care. It isnt about survival; its about pure fishing
enjoyment. Some single suites are available on the
Marabell at no additional charge, making her one of the best fishing values anywhere. Book
early--the Marabell sells out quickly. |
