Travel Documents

Guests arriving from outside of Canada must have proper identification to clear Canadian Customs.  Generally, for U.S. citizens, a photo I.D. and birth certificate is sufficient, but a passport is always best.   Destination: Pacific and the resort can not be responsible if a custom's delay occurs.  For your trip home, be sure to keep your fishing license with you (not in checked luggage) as you may be asked by Customs or Fisheries to produce it.

Fishing License Requirements

A Canadian saltwater fishing license is required.   Licenses are available at the South Terminal when you arrive for your flight up to the M.V. Charlotte Princess.

Flying into Vancouver, B.C.

Guests arriving by aircraft into Vancouver International Airport are encouraged to arrive the day prior to your departure as airlines do have delays, and we would hate for you to miss your flight up to the Charlotte Princess as it is a specially scheduled flight.  We also recommend that you plan to stay in Vancouver the night that you return in case there are weather delays in traveling back from the resort.  If you need assistance booking your flight to Vancouver, Destination:Pacific can assist you with this flight.

Hotel Accommodations in Vancouver

Special room rates are available at several hotels in Vancouver for guests of the Charlotte Princess.  The special rate includes shuttle service to and from the Vancouver International and South Terminal (where your flight to the resort leaves from) Airports.  The rate also includes complimentary freezer storage for your catch upon your return.  The hotels offering these packages are the Vancouver Airport Marriott, the Hilton Vancouver Airport and the Best Western Richmond Inn.  All three hotels are close together and are 10 minutes from the airport.   Please contact Destination: Pacific for more information and reservations.

Transportation to the M.V. Charlotte Princess

All trips to the Charlotte Princess depart from and return to the South Terminal at the Vancouver International Airport in Vancouver, B.C. Canada.   The South Terminal is a short drive from the main terminal of the Vancouver International Airport.  If you fly into Vancouver the same day, you can take a taxi from the main terminal to the South Terminal Airport.  If you are staying at one of the recommended hotels, they all offer shuttle service to the South Terminal.

Check in at the South Terminal Airport is at 8:30 am.   A light breakfast is served before heading off on a 1 hour and 45 minute scenic flight over British Columbia's majestic coastline.  You will then land at the Sandspit airport and transfer by bus to a float plane dock where your short 35 minute flight will take you directly to the Charlotte Princess.  Upon your return from the Charlotte Princess, you will arrive back at the South Terminal in Vancouver at approximately 7:00pm.

To ensure space on the float plane for your catch, please limit your baggage to 25 lbs., and try to pack using soft luggage (duffel bag, etc.).

Payment & Cancellation Policy

Transporting Your Catch

The crew will clean, fillet, flash freeze and vacuum pack your fish for airline shipping to Vancouver.  Guests are responsible for the care of their fish after their arrival in Vancouver.  Fish may also be sent to the cannery for canning or smoking and shipment directly to your home.  The crew will arrange for this, however, there is a fee charged by the cannery.
